Kiss My Face Review and Giveaway

9 July 2009 24 Comments

Thanks for stopping by again! Have we connected on Facebook or Twitter yet? I hope you enjoy your stay!

Bath time… Noah loves it and has since we brought him home. Our little water rat doesn’t care if he’s in the bathtub or in the shower, he’s smiling either way. I like his bath times too, it’s nice to watch him having fun and I love that I don’t have to go running after him, trying to keep the little monster out of trouble.

Up until now, I’ve been using “the” baby wash… you know, the one that’s been around since we were babies. Then, a few weeks ago, Kiss My Face gave me the chance to review some of their kids products.  I thought why not… Noah is getting older and we could use a nice change. When the box of goodies arrived, the first thing that I noticed was the smell… one of the bottles had leaked a little and there was a wonderful orange smell coming out of the box. It was like freshly squeezed orange juice. I was already getting hooked.

IMG_1560I tried out the Bubble Wash first. I ended up using it 2 ways – I poured some into the bathtub to give Noah his first bubble bath ever and I used it to wash him. It  lathered nicely and got my baby squeaky clean without drying his skin. While he was bathing, I was a little concerned that the orange scent would be too strong and that after the bath Noah would smell too fruity, but there really was no need to be concerned. He did not leave the bath tub smelling like a giant glass of orange juice.

Next I tried the Foaming Shampoo and Body Wash… enter dumb mom moment. So the top shows that you have to twist it open, which I did… knowing that it is a foaming wash, I proceeded to try and push the top to get the foam out, and I push and push and push some more and nothing budges. Twist, twist, twist… push, push, push and still no foam. So I finally decide to read the bottle and all I had to do was twist open and squeeze the bottle to get the foam out! Now that that was taken care of and I was actually able to get some of the foam onto the wash cloth, we could proceed. Once again great lather… I really liked how it kept the foam while I washed Noah from head to toe and every where in between. Again it cleaned nicely without drying his skin.

I was also sent a bottle of Detangler and a bottle of Shampoo and Conditioner, but those will be tried out by my niece E. She has the cutest little curls that like to tangle , so my sister said that it would be perfect for her. I will let you know what she thinks about those two products as soon as she’s able to try them out.

Some other things to know about the Kiss My Face Kids line… there are no artificial colors, no chemicals, no animal ingredients and there was no animal testing.  I love that!

I learned about Titanium Dioxide: Titanium Dioxide is a physical block. It is a mineral and is inert; thus does not cause a reaction or breakout. Titanium Dioxide … in a super fine powder … provides a physical sun block and works by blocking and scattering sunlight rather than absorbing it as the chemical sun screens do. It is safe to use on children.

I am allergic to coconut, and since I have to wash my kid with my own hands and snuggle with him afterward, I have to use coconut-free stuff. Sodium Laurel Sulfate is made from coconut! Kiss my face has several kids’ products with no SLS and therefore coconut free. Yay!

I learned from their site that Olive Oil stimulates new cell generation giving the skin a fresh, youthful appearance, tightens and tones the skin with its high concentration of vitamin e and antioxidants, slows the development of wrinkles, creases and signs of aging, softens the skin, reduces infection and is effective in treating burns, has anti-inflammatory properties, alleviates many skin conditions including acne, eczema and psoriasis.

My girls want to have long hair… but they’re not the best at keeping it combed. I’d like to try the detangling creme… I like how the products contain natural ingredients.

I found out that they sell a detangler. My daughter has long, thick hair that tangles easily. I wonder if a detangler would help? macd82 at gmail dot com
