Rock of Ages Review

15 August 2009 No Comment

Thanks for stopping by again! I look forward to reading your thoughts. Did you know that I also tweet?

I was recently sent the Rock of Ages CD to review from the One2One Network. I try to stay informed about many things, but Broadway is not one of them, so I wasn’t aware that this was a Broadway musical – a 5 time Tony Award nominated musical!!

Rock of Ages CD

I do like musicals though and after looking at the list of songs on the cd, I thought that this would be something that is right up my alley. I mean just look at the track list and tell me that you wouldn’t want to listen too!

Just Like Paradise / Nothin’ But A Good Time
Sister Christian
We Built This City / Too Much Time On My Hands
I Wanna Rock
We’re Not Gonna Take It
Heaven/More Than Words / To Be With You
Waiting For A Girl Like You
Wanted Dead Or Alive
I Want To Know What Love Is
Cum On Feel The Noize / We’re Not Gonna Take It
Harden My Heart / Shadows Of The Night
Here I Go Again
The Final Countdown
Any Way You Want It / I Wanna Rock (Reprise)
High Enough
I Hate Myself For Loving You / Heat Of The Moment
Hit Me With Your Best Shot
Can’t Fight This Feeling
Every Rose Has Its Thorn
Oh Sherrie
The Search Is Over
Don’t Stop Believin

I popped the cd into the laptop as soon as it arrived… and then Noah started looking at me funny because I was singing songs that I usually don’t sing. I’ll admit that though I really like the tracks, there was some talking in between the songs and I did find that to be a bit annoying. I just reminded myself that this was not some “Best of” CD… it was the original Broadway cast recording, so it’s to be expected that there will be a little something extra to the songs. With that in mind I kept on playing the CD… and actually following along in the booklet (it had the lyrics and text in it! Love love love when the booklets include the lyrics – that way I know I’m singing the right words!! haha). Even as I’m typing this I’m singing some of the songs to myself… I may have been young during that time, but I love 80’s rock!!

If you’d like to see a making of soundtrack video, you can do so here.

Thank you again to the
