Smelly Washer Review and Giveaway

12 November 2009 23 Comments

Thanks for stopping by again! I look forward to reading your thoughts. Did you know that I also tweet?

I’ve done it… I’m sure that you’ve probably done it at some point too… I mean it happens to the best of us, as hard as we may try to not let it happen it still does… I’m talking about the load of laundry left overnight (or *gasp* even longer) in the washer. What happens is that you have a load of musty smelling laundry even after rewashing it.

Smelly_Washer_-_BottleThere is a solution though… it’s called Smelly Washer and it not only helps get the funk out of your washing machine, but also out of laundry… like for example towels. I happened to find out about it back when I was having my fish oil dilemma… though I wasn’t able to use it to try and get that disgusting fish smell out of our jeans (the bottle came too late for that), I was able to try it out on other things… like Snickers’ towels… the towels that she would sleep on at night and which would inevitably get dirty and peed on.

Sooo since these towels were usually one of the last loads of laundry to go into the wash, they were also often the ones that got overlooked and sat in the washer longer than they should have. They had a funk to them and it wasn’t just because of the dog. When I got the bottle of Smelly Washer I thought to myself “Why not try it out on them?” and followed the directions on the bottle. They were easy enough… place one cap full into the wash with the towels… let agitate for a few minutes and then let set for 2 hours before finishing the cycle. I usually set my washer to do an extra spin cycle before throwing the laundry into the dryer, and this load was no exception to that rule. After the towels were dry, I folded them and took a good whiff. There was no funk left to them! How about that!

The great thing is that if the smell should happen to be coming from your washing machine, you can actually clean your stinky washing machine with Smelly Washer too. The only thing that I found to be a bit annoying about using this product was getting the dosage ready… the instructions tell you to use a cap full of Smelly Washer… which normally is not a problem, but the cap has a low rim and the bottle a wide mouth, so it is very easy to pour out more than intended. I would find it easier to use if it had a scooper of some sort.

Right now Smelly Washer is offering my readers a 10% off discount by using the following promo code: mamamichie
