Hugg-A-Planet Review and Giveaway

I will admit that I have a slight (okay sometimes more than slight) tendency to be a bit of a nerd. It is nothing that I am ashamed of. I loved learning when I was younger, and though it doesn’t come as easily to me now as it did then, I still love to learn about new things at the ripe old age of 32.

I would love it if my love of learning were passed on to Noah. He is still young enough right now where he is a sponge that picks up everything we do and say and I hope it continues to be that way (for a while at least). I was recently given the chance to review the Hugg-A-Planet line products. I have to admit that I was a bit intrigued by this line and I immediately went online to find out a bit more about them.

I was pleasantly surprised when box arrived and I opened it… I thought that I would like them when I looked at the pictures online, but I wasn’t aware of just how great the Hugg-A-Planets really were. The best way to describe them would be that they are pillows in the shape of the Earth (the largest pillow), Mars (mid-sized) and the moon (the smallest – about the size of a softball). They are nice and soft – even comfortable enough to rest your head on (which I may have tried to do a few mornings when Noah was waking up ready to play at 5 am – though he never let me have my head on there too long!). The details on the pieces are great, but the information on the planets is amazing! I wasn’t expecting to find as much information on them as they actually have – even tiny islands in the Pacific are labeled! It’s no wonder to me that the Hugg-A-Planets were voted as one of Parents Choice Foundation’s “Best 25 Toys of the Past 25 Years”!

I couldn’t be happier with the Hugg-A-Planets. Though Noah isn’t yet old enough to learn which countries are which (not like he could tell me anyway seeing that he’s still not talking!), he has learned which planets are which and if I ask him to bring me the Earth or to put the Moon away he goes to the correct one right away. I also think it’s cute how he will just randomly walk around with one of them throughout the house (unfortunately he never stays still long enough for me to get a decent picture of him) or try to stack them on top of each other to make a “planet-man” (think snowman made out of planets). As soon as I saw the Hugg-A-Planets I thought to myself “These will will not only be great for Noah to learn from, but they will also be great to put into my classroom once I finish school and have my own class”.

Something that I thought was very interesting is that the Hugg-A-Planet line is on the International Space Station right now!! Now tell me that isn’t cool!!

Fiji would be my place of destination! the husband and I have been trying to save to go for the past TEN {10!!} years. But alas…. the children like to eat and up until recently liked to be diaperd to. {well I like them to be diapered… they had different ideas} and we needed a mode of transportation to get the family places…. so someday we’ll make it to Fiji!
