Utterly Yours Preganancy Pillow Review
Pregnancy has its ups and downs… and although I love being pregnant, I must admit that I start complaining more about it as I get progressively bigger. My main complaints are (in no particular order) *getting up off of anything and *laying down to sleep in bed.
It’s recommended that pregnant women lay on their left sides while sleeping. The reasons to do this are numerous, but has anyone ever tried sleeping in just that one position all night long… night after night after night after night? It’s next to impossible unless you have something helping you stay that way. Even then the options weren’t the greatest… you could put a regular pillow behind your back, but they are so soft that you could still roll over because there’s next to no support. You could also get a body pillow and sleep against that (the one that I have is made with down feathers and has great support), but those are so bulky and take up a lot of room in the bed… not a good thing unless you’re sleeping in a king… which I am, so that is what I used when I was pregnant with Noah.
I didn’t want to go that route this time though for various reasons and was happy to be introduced to the Utterly Yours Pregnancy Pillow. I was sent one for review a few weeks ago and I love it! It’s great to use not only when I want to go to sleep because it supports me in all the right places (the small of my back and my belly), but also when I want to read while laying down. I can now lay on my side and read while leaning back against something that provides support!
Some other things I like about it are:
* I really like that the belly wedge is made of memory foam so it conforms to me, whereas the back wedge is made of a higher density foam for the support.
* I like that it folds up into a nice small cube. It means that when I make the bed I don’t have to try to find a “home” for something big and bulky.
* I love the different fabric designs! They are fun and I’m sure there’s something there for everyone.
There’s really only one thing that I can say that I don’t like… and that is I can’t really cuddle with my husband before we fall asleep… this is true with any pillow though (I had the same problem when I was pregnant with Noah), so it’s not something specifically against the Utterly Yours Pregnancy Pillow.
Overall, I am very happy with it and I’m even considering taking it with to the hospital when our little girl decides it’s time to be born. I just remember how it was laying there on my back on that uncomfortable hospital bed while I was unknowingly in labor with Noah… I don’t want to repeat that and I’m sure being able to move into a different position will help when the time comes.
