RoseArt Color Blanks {Review}

6 May 2011 3 Comments

I haven’t fallen off of the face of the earth, though you wouldn’t  know it based on the frequency of my posts! There are things going on here at the home front that have been (and may very well continue hopefully only for a little while) taking up much of my time this past week… and no I don’t mean that I have been lazying around because Spring has finally sprung  here in the Midwest… though we are trying to enjoy as much of that as we can too!! Anyway, there may be some big, Big, BIG changes going on here at home (no… not pregnant either!), but until we are sure of everything I will keep my mouth shut… which by the way is so hard  to do… very, very hard to do… *giggle*  *giggle* =)

Soooo….. on with the review. Mega Brand and RoseArt were kind enough to send me a sample of a new, fun and creative product that they have out – Color Blanks. Color Blanks are design-free figurines that provide fun canvases for children (or adults *ahem*)  to discover their inner artist. They are collectable, posable, plastic figures that can be decorated with markers, stickers, paint and more.

It took me about a week before I finally unblanked my Color Blank…. the kids were in bed and it was just me, my little gal (because I decided my little one was a girl), some paint and a few markers… and you know what? I had a blast! I painted it first and then decided that I wanted the black paint to stand  out more, so I went over it with the black marker that was provided in the kit – the marker went on smoothly and looked great (it also has held up much better to the areas that were only painted). I used some Sharpies that I had at home to add some embellishments and completed my little girl’s look by giving her a face (I used a few of the stickers provided in the kit for this).

Okay, so the only girly thing about her is her curly hair (that I sharpied on), the flower on her belly and her eyes… but she’s my girl! I had originally thought that maybe Noah could color and decorate it, but I have to honestly say that I am glad that I did, because I had a lot of fun doing it. So much fun, that I considered it to be my craft for that week!
