Crocheted Flat Easter Egg Tutorial

Back in 2011, I was on the hunt for a flat Easter egg crochet pattern that was worked in the round. I had made a heart garland a few weeks earlier for Valentine’s Day and I wanted to make a similar egg garland for Easter. I searched the internet and found that there were plenty of patterns for 3-dimensional eggs and flat eggs worked in rows. There were even a few granny egg patterns available… but no matter how hard I looked, I couldn’t find any patterns like the one that I had in my mind.

Not one to let a little thing like that stop me, after lots of trial and error, I came up with the pattern that’s now published in my Easter Egg Garland tutorial.

That was four years ago, and since that original pattern was published, I’ve seen a few people copy it and pass it off as their own. I have to admit that I was angry and hurt that someone would do something like that. I was so angry in fact, that I’ve considered taking down the egg pattern more than once. I never did, and I won’t. After all, it’s said that imitation is the best form of flattery.

So instead of taking down the pattern, I thought that I would post an update! I’ve been asked a few times if I have any more photos that go with the tutorial of the pattern and up until now I haven’t. I decided that it time to post a quick photo tutorial!
