At Mama Michie’s Musings, you will find anything from teething to bugs, sleepless nights to stretch marks, reviews and giveaways and sometimes even more serious topics. It all depends on what’s on my mind and how much sleep I got the night before, but life is never dull with two children 19 months apart!

Hello and welcome!

Hi there! Feel free to sit back and relax, grab a cup of tea or coffee, and let’s get to know each other better.

Let me introduce myself… my name is Michaela (pronounced Mish uh ay la) and I’m a 30-something wife, mother, indie biz owner, craft dabbler, aspiring June Cleaver  and yes… blogger.

I started writing on my first blog in August 2008, just a few long and sleepless short days after my son Noah was born. My original blog was an online journal of sorts, documenting Noah’s achievements and milestones for family near and far to read. I have always loved to write and soon found blogging to be a good scratch for that itch {not to mention that it helped keep me awake during the many frequent late night nursing sessions}. Within a few weeks I realized that, while I love my son, he wasn’t the only topic that I wanted to write about… and so my second blog, Mama Michie’s Musings, was born in October 2008. This soon became the place where I could vent (to a degree), seek advice, admit to my failures and yes… show off my son.

In June 2009, my husband bought me my own domain name and I made the switch from Blogger to WordPress. It was an exciting month, but not as exciting as July… Noah wasn’t even a year old yet when we found out that we were expecting baby number 2. The months passed by quickly and before we knew it, Abigail came into this world on her own terms in March 2010.

As my family grew and changed, so did this blog… and while the changes that took place on here were not always for the better, I held onto my little space in the interwebs and worked on bringing things back to the way I would like them to be.

Life isn’t always easy with two children so close in age {just 4 days shy of 19 months apart}, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. As the children grow and learn, so do I. Just this past year, I’ve started to follow my dream… you see, in addition to loving to write, I’ve also always loved to craft. Now that the children are growing older and becoming more independent, I am able to nurture that love a little more. With the support of my husband, I started working on Noby Designs in the fall of 2011, but I didn’t really start devoting time to it until early the following year. In February 2012, in the wake of a miscarriage, I opened the Noby Designs Etsy store… in doing so, I not only added another element to myself but I also added it to this blog as well.

I don’t know where the future will lead us, but I do know that  I am happy to be sharing this journey with you!
