Sure I'm the only one awake at nap time, but almost never at night... okay so that's not entirely true... there are many nights where Ray and I are downstairs watching a movie and I'm the only one awake watching it... but that's not the case tonight... no tonight he's actually already sleeping in bed. I probably should be too... I'm so very tired.

There's cranberry wine, cranberry liqueur, and cranberry beer... let's just put it this way... there are cranberries in just about everything there!! =) Oh and did I mention that they have fried cheese curds too... mmmmm my mouth is drooling just thinking about it again.

It was aggravating, I lost some files and had to re-edit photos that were being worked on when my laptop crashed, but there was no use boohooing about it and the experience actually had me feeling a little lighter in the end. Today has been good because it is almost 50 degrees here {!!!} so the kids and I were able to spend a glorious hour outside this morning enjoying the warmth and sunshine.

By Saturday, my sinuses were completely acting up and I had the chills... fantastic!!! I no longer have the chills {thankfully}, but it's been well over a week and I still can't go anywhere without tissues {or a roll of toilet paper... so much easier and there's more of it!!} and there are several times a day when I swear I am going to cough out my lungs. Thankfully I am the only one who got sick and I am happy to say that I think that I'm slowly getting better.

The drive to the cove was beautiful... with the road winding and curving through the mountains and alongside a river... though at times it was bit much for me. I've found out that I can not read maps while in a moving vehicle... I thought I could... but I can't.
- [7 1/2 months](https://mamamichie.com/2010/10/19/7-12-months/) - Abby is 7 1/2 months old and I swear in the past week she has been hitting milestone after milestone! It all started with her getting up onto her knees and crawling 1 or 2 paces... on the same day that she cut her first tooth!! I will admit that I cried a little when Noah got his first tooth, because I loved that gummy toothless smile.

Throw in a few fevers here and there and we really are a hot mess of a family right now.

I seriously love that thing and have been reading so much more since Ray gave it to me as an early birthday gift a few week ago. I saw a tutorial for a Kindle cover on Chica and Jo, but didn't like how it opened to the top. I wanted to make one that opened up like a book, so I used that tutorial as inspiration and modified it to fit my needs... and I am sooooo happy with the way it turned out!

Seriously how do I lose track of two days like that? So imagine my surprise when on Sunday I happened to notice the 9 month sticker on Abby's baby calendar staring at me. How had it become the 5th of December already?
- [It's Christmas everywhere!](https://mamamichie.com/2010/12/21/its-christmas-everywhere/) - That's Noah's newest saying... we'll be in a store, driving down the road or just coming down the stairs and Noah will stop, look around and say "It's Christmas everywhere!" It's too cute!! Ray said it once and it's been Noah's thing since then. I love seeing the excitement in his eyes as he sees the decorations and the lights, and I love that he wants to turn the lights on the tree on as soon as we get up... but they're on a timer so I make up some excuse as to why I don't. The little bugger has learned how to plug in the lights on the railing though, so I guess there will be a safety plug added to the extension cord!

- [Reflections of Christmas (just) past](https://mamamichie.com/2010/12/29/reflections-of-christmas-just-past/) - Well, Christmas is half a week behind us and my home still looks like a toy store threw up in it. Seriously... there are toys and kids stuff everywhere... and that's when the place is cleaned up! There's no where to walk when the kids are playing... but they are happy - and sharing the toys (most of the time), which makes me happy. They truly were blessed with gifts from their grandparents and Santa. There are new toy cars and trucks, dollies and strollers, a tea set, a v-reader, a View-Master (remember those!! Santa brought Noah one this year and he loves it as much as Ray and I did as kids!) and soooooooooo much more!

Ray and I were actually sitting peacefully inside (with Abby sleeping in my arms) watching "Heaven Can Wait" on NetFlix. We were sitting there comfortably after having stuffed our faces with a home cooked dinner featuring fresh lobster tails... soooo tasty!! Thankfully Ray had an alert set up on his phone and it warned us when it got close to midnight... I'm sure we would have missed it otherwise! It was a nice cozy and relaxed New Years... the way that it has been almost every year that we've been together.

She looked so proud of her naked little walking self =) (She and I were getting ready to take a shower... hence the nakedness). While she's getting better at walking and is taking a few steps here and there, her favorite thing to do when we try to "practice" is to stand there and then let herself fall forward - much like those trust tests they have people do. Thank goodness one of us is always there to catch her. She thinks its a game and giggles like crazy... then she does it again as soon as we stand her back up.

I have (mostly) been keeping up with my plan to DDC (decrapify, declutter and clean). Dress shopping is not my thing at all. I am such a practical shopper. I don't go to the mall just for fun - I go with a purpose... though I have been known to go there with the kids in the winter so that Noah can get his run and play on at the indoor playground.

He finally figured it out about a month ago and has been jumping and hopping all over the house since. One of the things that I love about spring and fall is that I can open the windows and doors and let the fresh air flow through the house... it's a bit cleansing for me... like the breeze is taking away all of the bad stuff and replacing it with freshness... but I digress.

In the end, we did get the king size bed... and boy am I happy that we did, because every day, in the early morning hours, two pairs of little feet come scurrying through the hall and crawl into our bed next to us...
